Three nights and 55 km with 50 lb packs on the northern tip of Vancouver Island. We got lucky with no rain, mud, or mosquitoes.

  We saw one bear but few insects, birds, and squirrels. I don’t have any history to calibrate against in this area however back home in the mid Vancouver Island area wildlife has definitely collapsed.
